Priming the warm-up: why you shouldn't settle for wrist circles
Good day dear mover! With this lesson, we learn how to WARM-UP properly with our handstands... and yes, it is a bit more complicated than performing some wrists circles...
A smart warm-up should:
- ensure that your joints and surrounding tissues are ready for the demands of your training sessions...and
- reinforce complex motor patterns that we are trying to ingrain.
In other words, let's use your warm-up as a way to really get comfortable with some of the foundations of handstands so that you don't have to think about them when you are upside down, against the wall, with a spotter or alone.
